what OS are you running it on?
    what video card?

how much money do you have to spend?

have you considered something like virtuawin or dexpot?

is your goal a flashy desktop or one with more customizable functionality?

will you be doing the customization or will you be depending on downloading the work of others?

I've played with both and they're almost identical, as long as you're talking about the free version of ObjectDock. They have pretty much the same feature set.

I am a big fan of ObjectDock. My girlfriend also uses it in her tablet and really likes it as well.

Currently using Rocketdock + Stacks Docklet here. A little bit buggy sometimes on Windows 7 but overall, it's a very useful and free of charge dock.

I personally use Rocketdock right now but in the past I have tried Objectdock. They have so similar performance that is hard to tell them apart. They both can be set to start automatically and they seem to require very limited recourses.

    I don't know about ObjectDock
but I'm pretty satisfied with StackDocklets on RocketDock
