I am not sure about the real icon spacing tweaks for RocketDock.
    All I do is:
Just edit the Icons, Icons are PNG file.
Edit them to have wider blank space, so, when putting them on RocketDock, you can see each icon are further away.
Want to be consistent, you need to edit every PNG files you intend to use on RocketDock.
I can screenshoot the way of editing it if you want.

I know ObjectDock(not sure paid or free version) seems can do the spacing between icons.
But objectdock is more heavier than RocketDock.

I think RocketDock's icon spacing tweak is very hard or nearly impossible to do. Because I can't see any thing relate to ICON SPACING in the folder. Not sure about everything. Need a real EXPERT to explain more.

Yea tried Objectdock but i had a problem when maximizing programs (firefox for eg) objectdock stayed on top of it even with the setting to stay always "on the desktop". Which was really annoying for me so i had to switch to rocketdock.

At least the icon spacing is not as annoying as having to keep reticking the same option in objectdock :p

LOL. I think you don't know where is the option to make objectdock really stick to the bottom and won't appear on top.
Go to positioning tab in Object Dock,
interation there, select keep on bottom
and lastly the delay to bring dock blah blah blah(located after KEEP ON BOTTOM). Drag it to the most right.

    I hope this may help.
Since you're using Alienware M17, I guess you can use objectdock and rocket together without a single lag.

Yeap already done that :p But in some cases it stays on top even with the option ticked :p

There are others that have the same problem, for example. Seems like a program bug.

you could build your dock with dummy (no-color/100% transparent) icons of the desired height/thickness between th eworking icons.

Doesnt work, tried it today, sadly it automatically scales the image to a full icon size.

Silly that they didnt predict something simple like this or not fixing it asap.

This might work, on the theory that if you change the icon spacing in Windows, the new amount of space that each icon takes up, might transfer over to RocketDock.

To change the horizontal or vertical spacing between icons, in Windows Explorer, use the Advanced Apearance settings to adjust this. Try adjusting the Icon Spacing (horizontal) and Icon Spacing (vertical).

Im not sure if that will work since there no spacing between two square (not round) icons in rocketdock at all, if it was based on windows settings it should have some distance between them at least. And i dont really want to change my windows spacing in order to make this work :p

For a solution, try to search blank separator at deviantART, I forgot the link, and now I use mobile phone for browsing, try to search rocket dock separator first, then search blank separator. You can use blank separator to increase spacing between icons. I hope it's help :)

You can create yourself as well. More likely your own theme(Skin).
Create a blank(adjust the pixel yourself) PNG files. Follow the RocketDock's Skin format. You can use its Skin folder in the RocketDock as reference.
Then, apply the theme. Insert separator between icons in your RocketDock.

Yea its probably possible to replace the themes separator with your own, a transparent one. But then you will have no visible separator to use since you only "allowed" to have one.

Probably. Because each Skin only allow you to have one type of separator.
This method is not too good/probably bad for the user who want beautiful separator to separate the icons.
The most effective method(most time consuming) is what I posted before, manually adjust each icons(PNG files) blank space using photoshop.

Yea but making a photo for each shortcut is a bit silly for something like that :p

In front of art, nothing is silly.
Want to gain total beauty, some sacrifice is needed.
    I would use this phrase,
Exchange Equalibrium - You gain what you paid
