Got a question. Purchased a new digital still camera at the last second for my wife to take on a week long hiking trip. It it also takes short mpegs(30sec's or so). She ended up taking a few mpegs with the camera in portrait mode instead of landscape mode. Since the videos only play in landscape mode, all the videos are laying on their sides.... Is there any inexpensive software that can be used to rotate the mpegs so we don't have to crane our necks to watch them?? Thanx.

If you have Windows XP, you should have MS Paint. Paint can rotate images. Check the programs listing. Paint is under accessories.

Import the video clip into Windows Movie Maker.

Drag the imported video clip and drop it onto the timeline.

On the Tools menu, click Video Effects.

To rotate the video clip to the right, drag the Rotate 90 video effect and drop it onto the movie on the timeline.

On the File menu, click Save Movie File and follow the instructions in the Save Movie Wizard.

Tried Using Windows Movie Maker and it sort of worked... the problem is aspect ratio. It took a 640 x 480 picture, rotated it 90 deg and reformated it at the 640 x 480 aspect ratio... making everything look wider in proportion as well as shorter. Thanks though.
