Hi.
I recently acquired Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 Suite. After I installed it, I was running it, and I noticed that my computer was incredibly slow. Then, a balloon popped up near the task bar explaining that it has raised the Page File limit. I looked in the task manager, and was very startled at what I saw. First thing I thought was.. "This can't be right!" It was taking an incredibly huge amount of ram compared to what I had expected.
Anyways, I was looking for a confirmation that nothing is wrong here. If this is abnormal, what would you suggest that I do? Virus scan has already been done. Thanks for any help.

How much memory do you have installed? If it is low like 256MB you should consider increasing it. I think 512MB is the minimum for XP. You can also increase the size of the paging file in the system properties. I would also check on Roxio's site. If it is a bug in the software chances are someone else has encountered and may have found a solution. I personally have never been a fan of Easy CD Creator and much prefer Nero. CDBurnerXP is free and works well for the basic stuff. Good Luck.

I currently have 1GB of system memory installed. Windows up'd my pagefile to 1536MB automatically. I shall check their site now. Thanks for the advice.

I am really surprised that you are using 2GB of memory! That's amazing - there's definitely something wrong with Roxio. Get rid of that and use Nero or NTI. Zazonz made a good suggestion as well.
You could try reinstalling it if you'd like to use Roxio - maybe that would fix it. Is it possible that any of your firewalls are blocking or preventing it from doing something?

I just posted a thread on the Roxio forum. Hopefully people will be as helpful there as people are here
Anyways, When I was installing it, I had my network adapter powered off and roxio did not mind, so I assume my firewall would have nothing to do with this.
If I don't get a reply at that forum, then I will try reinstalling it.
Once again, Thanks for the advice. -
Ok, so I got some replies indicating that this is normal while the process manages all of your music, movies ect. It will drop the memory usage when it has complete. I did notice that it has lowered to expected levels, making me happy
Now, let the Roxio 8 issue rest in piece.
