I just installed the Royale theme and noticed that I have white backgrounds for the menu bars of several programs, like the calculator. I've had that problem before on another machine, but it was the regular XP theme. Anyone know how to fix it?

    No one has an answer?

It's really not just the calculator. I also noticed this for MS Paint for starters.

Hmm I once had that problem but closing the application fixed it. Try a restart or a reinstall.

    Hey Charlie,

thanks for your reply. Closing the applications definitely didn't help, nor did a restart. By reinstall, do you mean the software? This issue only happens in the Royale theme on my laptop. On my desktop, it started appearing in the regular XP theme as well.

    I'm out of ideas...

Although I do not remember what version of Royale I downloaded, I did get it from softpedia. I just searched through the site and found only one version of Royale, and it's for XP. I'm pretty sure that's what I got.

Strangely, I started observing the same problem on my desktop, which is running the default XP theme. On that machine, VLC had that problem, and so did other programs such as MS Paint etc. On my E1705 however, MS Paint/calculator etc run fine on the XP theme, but not on Royale.

    Why not just use xPize?
Not only do i use it and have absolutely no problems with the royal skin, but it comes with a bunch of other cool icons and tweaks that look and run beautifully.

Display Properties > Appearance tab > select Media Center Style (or deselect and select it again) and click Apply.

It'll fix your problem, but another one pops up, the text highlight sub-menu to New (right click on desktop) is wrong and the loading bar is a bit off on the right...

Microsoft New Zealand released this one (at least the one I downloaded) so don't expect much, the installer was strange, too...

Still beats Luna by far, though, and I still use it...
