I have an HP nc6220, sometimes The power cord that connects to the computer is slightly out, causing the laptop to run on the battery. I don't really want to waste my battery.
Is there any program that will give a popup message or something to notify me that I'm running on a battery?
Thanks in advance

The power icon in your system tray should change when it switches to battery.

Yes I know that but I hardly every look at it and sometimes it's not even there and I have to go to the control panel to check it.

The larger battery icon in NHC changes too, if you use it.

If you want to DL rainmeter, it can tell you if you're running on AC power or battery if you choose the right skin.

I use windows xp so no gadgets
I like IBM laptops that make a beep whenever you unplug the power cord.
Perhaps I'll just have to keep checking my power cord all the time
Thanks anyway -
Attached is a little program I wrote in C# that will pop up a small message box when you detach the power cord from your laptop. This was written in Visual C#:
