I am using Vista Home Premium and am trying to install a program that is allegedly compatible only with XP. The installer program is an .msi file type. When I run the file, a window pops up explaining that the software is only supported on Windows XP.

Is there any way around this?

    Thanks for the help!

Try running it in compatibility mode (Check Properties).

The file doesn't give me the "compatibility" option nor does it have any other supporting files.

I've attached images of the file "property" details. I hope I did it right.

    Thanks for the help!

If you have 64-bit Vista and the program is 16-bit, then forget it.

Otherwise, you can try right-clicking the file, Properties, Compatibility tab, and tell it to run in XP compatibility mode.
