    what is the best SMART monitoring software out there today?

    and why u think this is the best?

    pls suggest any freeware, shareware, etc.

    S.M.A.R.T is built into the harddrive itself and Windows has Capabilities of monitoring smart.
    If you see a red Windows telling you to backup all your data immediately it means failure predicted.

    If you want to see a full SMART report, you can try HDTune. Also, many HD manufacturers have utilities for testing their products, which include SMART functionality.
