I was recently got infected with a worm, and so after disinfecting my PC, I ran SFC, and it found somefiles that needed to be restored and keeps asking me to enter my XP SP2 cd, but sadly my Fujitsu 3520 only came with a recovery disc, and inserting it doesn't work.

I found some workarounds, which asks me to copy i386 folder to my HD, but the recovery disc i386 folder has only 2 files in it.

Is there any other solution? I do have XP SP1 cd, will this work? Scared to try it since it may make my problem worst. Most of my friends also have SP1 and just updated to SP2 through the net, nd other friends who don't have SP1 cds are running MAC OS.

You should be able to use the SP1 disc to run SFC. If you end up needing to restore, you can use your recovery disc. Don't worry about the fact that it's a SP1 disc, you won't be using it to restore Windows. You'll just use it to check the status of key windows files.

That disc, or any Windows XP disc, will work fine.
