    Hi everyone,

I'm writing about Shareaza because I've noticed something very interesting about it. The fake version that is. Apparently, the real version of Shareaza, from sourceforge, version 2. something does not work for me because obviously p2p networks are blocked at my college.

HOWEVER, the "fake" version of Shareaza, from www.shareaza.com, version 4 WORKS at my college. This seems to suggest that the "fake" version of Shareaza doesn't use p2p networks at all, or else it would be blocked....That's what I think.

I am wondering if it is "safe" or "ok" for me to use the fake version of Shareaza (v4) instead of the real one. I installed it and scanned my computer, and nothing bad showed up. So is it safe for me to use the fake version of Shareaza???

    Thnx for your opinions.

I think all talk about these programs should be banned from these forums. They are only used for illegal activities.

So in response to your question. No, i don't think any p2p program is safe or should be used.

This thread is closed for inappropriate content. Shareaza may have some legal uses, but P2P software is verboten on this forum, doubly so with hacked versions of dodgy software. I'd highly suggest you don't use said software, as it's probably infested with viruses and adware.
