The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I dont know if you guys know how to do this, but i find important to share with you.

    if you dont know how to change directly in registry do this:

    its easy: just copy and paste this in notepad

    reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\XPSP3 /f 2> NUL

    reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\XPSP3 /v RCPreview /t REG_SZ /d 1c667073-b87f-4f52-a479-98c85711d869 /f

    carefull, no "enter" key between reg delete Hkey_local (....) and reg add Hkey_local (...)

    when you copy this to notepad, rename the extension to *.bat and execute the "tweak"...

    Go to windows update and see that sp3 is now available to download (70 mb)
