    i am getting this error message when i am booting into windows vista
    help guys what should i do its really urgent

    i dont want to do a system recovery i have important data on my HDD
    the laptop is DELL inspiron 1525

    i am unable to perform chkdsk from windows CD i think it may help resovle the issue any help?

    If you have a vista disk, you can boot with it, choose repair in the lower left hand corner of the install vista screen.

    If not, how comfortable are you burning ISO files?

    Can't boot from cd....hmm, that doesn't make sense. Any stop 0x00000024 error should not result in that. And it rules out my other thought.

    SATA drive? Pull the drive and drop it in a desktop with an extra SATA controler (make sure you do not boot to it)

    Run chkdsk on it from there,
