I ve created this thread for discussion regarding Safari performance on windows platform.

Well, i was testing Safari 3 beta on my vista....HTML and Java download is fast...faster than IE7 but Safari crashes frequently.

Is anyone else using safari on windows facing similar problems?

I dont have Safari on my system right now, so sorry, I can't answer your question about the specific v3 beta.

But when it was first released for Windows a few months ago (dunno what version), I d/led it enthusiastically, having heard many good things about it. After about 3 hours of using it and suffering through a lousy UI, a few crashes, lack of mouse gestures, and poor rendering of webpages, I ran back into the arms of Opera. I uninstalled Safari shortly thereafter.

If you are using a beta, it is safe bet to assume that it is unstable anyway.

Yeah, every time I open a RSS feed it crashes. But who uses Safari on a Windows anyway? It was intended for people who wanted to create websites that would display correctly on the iPhone without getting a mac.

I also tried Safari and uninstalled it faster than anything I ever downloaded before. It was very slow and had a very ugly interface. There is a reason that most Mac users have Firefox as their browser.
