Just recently I tried installing and using safari for windows. I noticed that it loads web pages faster than both IE7 and Firefox.

Is it just me? Did somebody here tried using safari in their windows?

I haven't used it but i will tell you that yes, it does load pages faster than IE7 and Firefox. I heard it loads even faster than opera but i heard that speed causes some kind of problem.

it's faster but the text comes out little fuzzy for some reason. i honestly don't notice the difference in speed while web browsing. all the browsers should load fairly quickly on most newer machines.

It's normal for the text to be fuzzy. Since Safari acts the same on both Windows and Mac it uses an anti-aliased text. Some people like it, others don't. It's just a matter of preference though. Yes, it does load pages faster than IE and FF, but considering the fact that it crashes a lot and that some pages don't render correctly, I think I'll stick with FF.

Exactly, the fonts in the web pages appear fuzzy. And also sometimes safari hangs up forever.

Safari loads web pages faster than IE and FF.

It doesn't load faster than FF on my machines; I never use IE, so that (Safari loads faster than IE) may be true; I don't even use Safari on my Mac because it's so slow.

    Edit: can't spell or type!

I wonder how many people will choose Safari for Windows as their "main" browser. I mean, does the world really need another web browser?

I have found Safari to be quick, but it often renders kind of wonky. Overall, I'm not that impressed with it.

Although its the fastest...i tried it...but its not very customizable..it has all juvenile options...also it crashes sometimes when u load another page before one loads

BTW Steve jobs used some benchmarking tool known as ibench during his keynote to demonstrate ...i couldn't find its download..

The benchmarking tool basically runs browsers parallel & surfs through lots of sites & gives us statistics ...

but firefox stands out as its the best combination of speed, looks, performance & reliability

Yeah, I have Safari 3 on Windows, and I do notice it loads faster than the other browsers, but I agree that the way it renders text just doesn't look good on Windows. I don't mind it on my Mac, but Safari on Windows is extremely annoying to read, if you ask me. I just use Firefox on my desktop PC.

macs have some colour calibration (as told to me by some mac users who are dumb fans of anything stylish) so this calibration helps graphic designers...
this is basically some sort of accurate display of colours which windows screen lacks...i think due to this safari doesnt quite work well on windows platform.

Sam, you use Windows? No way! :)

I tried out Safari 3 Beta about a week after it came out for Windows. It did seem to load pages a bit faster but I couldnt really stand its UI. I prefer Firefox for its capabilities to be customized. Safari also felt a little weird.

I don't see any significant speed. I've used them all, IE7, Firefox, Opera, Maxthon. Sometimes a page will load faster other times not. Yes Safari's fonts are a bit fuzzy and can get a headache if you read text for a long time. It's like having astigmatism!
