Here are a few items Revo pulls up that I'm not sure are crucial to the system or not. Can someone tell me if I can uninstall the following safely?
Advanced Audio FX Engine
Bonjour
Quicktime (Will I still be able to use iTunes?)
Dell Resource CD
Intel Matrix Storage Manager
Sigmatel Audio
Thanks.

You can ditch the Dell resource stuff, unless you use it to troubleshoot and contact Dell. I would keep everything else.
-
I agree the Dell CD resources can go, the rest you will want to keep. Bonjour is a part of iTunes.
-
I would keep Bonjour and quicktime since both of these are needed for itunes.
-
Alright, thanks for your help.
What about the Cisco stuff? Anyone know about it? -
What cisco stuff?
-
Probably the Cisco VPN client stuff or a router?!!?! If yes, I would assume its better to have it.

what does bonjour do? I dont have itunes but only quicktime, will uninstall it affect my pc?
-
Woops, thought I had listed that.
Cisco EAP+FAST module
Cisco Leap module
Cisco Peap module -
Do you go to a university by chance? -
I'm not at a university, but I'm at a boarding school. Why do you ask?
Are these modules commonly used to connect to a school network? -
Yes, they are needed for your school's network.
-
Ok, thanks.

I'm pretty sure I uninstalled bonjour and iTunes still works BTW. I hated how they kept adding more and more things for iTunes to install, like that seperate support software for the iPhone, so I was always getting rid of it.

Are you sure bonjour isn't used for something else too? I have bonjour on my laptops and I have never installed Quicktime or Itunes.
-
I don't know, but that feature is not important to me. I will check later.
-
Bonjour is used by a lot of programs - anything that needs to discover printers, computers, etc, on a local network. Some printers with network capabilities have this to make configuration easier.

Yeah it must be needed, just like Safari is needed for... for what again?
Apple is just pushing more and more of their software as a package. Granted you need QuickTime for iTunes since iTunes is really just a database system + frontend for QuickTime, but all of these other things are not required. Why is apple installing Safari with iTunes now too? Why does the apple updater (which also is unneeded garbage) push out completely new software?
Safe to uninstall?
