    Hi all,

I've had my notebook (Gateway 8510GZ) for about a year now, and I've decided it's time to wipe my drive. My only problem is this: I subscribed to Norton's Internet Security through the software pre-loaded onto my machine, and purchased a 15mo. subscription after the trial one ran out. I'd like to save this subscription.

So if I do an HD wipe, the entire thing partition included, and reload a fresh copy of XP Home, is there a way I can save the Norton's files and subscriptions so that I can reload them after I wipe my drive?

Did you get a key when you pruchased the subscription? Perhaps you can just re-install it with the key. If you only have a few months left I would suggest AVG Free for Virus and SafetyNet for a Firewall. Also use Mozilla and you should be in good shape.

Through your purchase agreement you should be able to download the software. I would check the site, receipts or any email correspondence, first. Then Wipe Away....
