Hi guys, recently got a P650SG with a 4k screen.

Most programs work fine, however some of them have text that are either too big or too small.

Too small is fine, since I can always use windows magnifier tool, but too big is an issue as the words get cut-off since they cannot fit their allocated text boxes. Example image as shown.

The words at the bottom are not cut off by the taskbar, they are too large to fit the small white box for them. Words on the top left are also affected, the longer ones are cut-off. Is there any fix for this?

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do. When it comes to high resolutions and scaling, it all depends on which API they use to display the UI and also whether they took into account scaling on higher res displays. Chances are, you'll either have to play with the scaling options a lot to get something usable or turn it off entirely which isn't really an option on a 15" display.

This is exactly why I'd never buy a 4K Screen! Scaling on my HD screen with a 125% DPI scaling sucks already as not all programs fit 100%, scaling on a 4K screen would be a disaster s not all programs are optimized for scaling.

There's a setting under the Compatibility tab of the app to disable HiDPI. It still may not be ideal but should not cut off text.

Your long-term solution is to report the issue to the makers of the software.

Isn't is ludicrous to have 4k on a 15" screen?

At work I use a Lenovo T540p with a 3K IPS screen, and when it looks good, it looks -really- good. I typically have that for my mail, using the Windows 8.1 Mail app. It's extremely crisp and pleasant to look at.

But yes, regular desktop stuff is kind of a mess on it. Luckily I have a 27" 1440p secondary screen for that stuff.
