Hi all, hope you can help me. Back story... I got this HP Pavilion dv7. A month ago I did a factory reset and downloaded the Windows 7 software that came with my laptop. Everything works great except the screen is way too white. On Google maps I can see street names but not the streets.

I found out how to go into Control Panel, Display, and change the Calibration. I've done that and saved it and looked great but somehow it goes back to being bright white again.

The weird thing is, I think it only happens when I plug the cord in and vice versa. I notice when I plug the cord in, the screen flickers for a couple seconds and it never used to do that before I did a factory reset.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Have you already tried resetting the colour settings for the graphics card?

Located in Intel Graphics and Media settings, or NVIDIA Control Panel or ATI/AMD Catalyst Control Center depending on the model of the graphics card.

It would also be a good idea to make sure your graphic drivers are up to date.
