Hey everyone, it's been a while since i've been here (been really busy lately), and I have a problem on my hands.

My dv9500 has screwed up lately. Supposedly when my mom was using it, the screen started flickering, then it went from 1440x900 res to 640x480, and changed from 32 bit colour to 4 bit colour. I've tried using system restore twice, and both times, the screen goes back to normal for a few minutes, then starts flickering, then changes again back to the crappy resolution and colour. I've also tried reinstalling the video card drivers and still have gotten no where. I don't have access to a second monitor at the time being so I don't know if that would help.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or would any one happen to know what the heck is going on?

    1. System Restore?
    2. Clean Installation
    3. If it did not work, try to contact the manufacturer.

    1. As I said, I tried it already.
    2. Might work, but I'd like to stay away from this for many reasons.
    3. Already did, dumbf*cks don't even understand what I mean.

I was wondering if anyone at all had any other suggestions, or might even know what the hell is going on.

Thanks again guys for your help, and thanks Lawrence.

I would try and get your hands on another monitor. That way you could rule out if it's the computer or the monitor. That IMO, would be your best bet to do first, would save you ALOT of time trying to figure out which one it is, running tests for both, etc etc.
