    Hey everybody,

My computer's power options have been acting strangely recently. My screen used to dim immediately when I unpluged the computer, now it stays the same unless I restart the computer with battery power, in which the screen will startup in it's dimmer setting. Also, in the power options, I used to have the option of standby/hibernate/etc for when the computer was both on battery and AC power, now it just has options for AC. The battery warning tab is also gone, I no longer get warned when the battery is about to go dead. It is almost like the laptop decided it wanted to be a desktop all of a sudden. :D I thought it might have been the new Nvidia drivers I installed, but I un-installed those and it did not solve anything.
As if that is not odd enough, have a new tab in power options, some odd ups tab, I have never tried to set my laptop up with a UPS at all. On that tab, there is a link to this website: http://winupgrade.apcc.com
Any ideas? Is it possible that I got shafted by some odd windows update that decided for me that I would be happier with a laptop with a desktop identity issue? Has anybody else spontaniously found a UPS tab in their power options? Any way to change all this back?
    Thanks for your help.

(Edit) Okay, I got it. All that was needed to do was uninstall the battery controller from device manager and reboot. Never mind.
