The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Search box/pane on top right of windows disappeared?

    In Win 7 on all explorer windows such as in control panel, or also similar to the one in IE on the top right there is a search box or search pane. I used that pretty often but all of the sudden it disappeared...I tried looking thru google but can't find a solution - does anyone know how to get that back?

    Perhaps you removed Windows Search in "Turn Windows features on or off"?

    Can easily be installed again with a little check, though.
