Does using secure erase software or tools decrease the life of your harddrive? CCleaner and Revo Uninstaller have file/folder deletion tools that allow you the user to set the deletion to comply with various secure deletion standards. Then there are programs like Eraser. I use some of these tools and software when deleting financial or other personally sensitive documents from my harddrive. But, I am curious if doing this kind of deletion will decrease the life of the drive, or damage it in any way.
Thanks as always,
