    Hi Yossi,

    Have you tried to remove any possible faulty Vista Security Center messages? If not, then follow these steps;

    1. Stop the Windows Management Instrumentation service. (type 'services' in search and click OK/enter to go to services and then, stop the "Windows Management Instrumentation" service).
    2. Locate the folder "repository" in c:\windows\system32\wbem. Delete only the repository folder.
    3. Now start the "WMI" service back.
    4. Wait for at least 15-20 mins for the system to rebuild the information.
    5. Now reboot and open the security center. If it's not turned ON, turn ON and you will have the right info there.

    Let us know if this fixed your problem.
    Cheers.

    Google shows more people with McAfee products suffer from security center warnings after a recent Vista update.
    Before going through all the hassle of fully uninstalling McAfee with the MCPR.exe ( link) and cleaning out/removing all McAfee files and folders before reinstalling, I'd ask on the McAfee support site ( link) if there is a known fix.
    Cheers.

    Yossi, vista is trying to do you a favour, read between the lines and download a better anti-virus program, which isn't so bloated.

    lol
    when i bought my xps 1530 i got 15 months of free antivirus.
    when i asked in the forums they told me to go with Mcafee :)
    maybe i should have picked norton. anyway i wont change it, at least not in the next 12 months that left :)

    HA - Yossi, just pulling your leg!

    But just so you know for future reference, Avira AntiVir is free, but more importantly has superior detection rate and less bloated, so don't give any money to these mega rich companies who invest more into advertising, then the actual software!

    Rant Over!
