Is there any way to make specific files and folders inaccessible if you don't have the right fingerprint or password? For example, if you tried to open one of the items there would be a popup asking for the right password or fingerprint.

    Thanks in advance.

If those options are available, they would be present in the folder options menu (Right click folder, properties) under the security tab.

UPDATE: I am away from my vista pc now but I can give a more solid answer when I get home if this option is available. I also recall that my entire recovery partition (D:\) and Program Files folder triggers UAC whenever I try to access them, so maybe you can check those on your own pc and see how the security tab is configured on those.

UPDATE 2: No you cannot, but you can use a program like truecrypt to get the job done.
