    Hi people,

Since last night I am seeing very high CPU activity that I sed to before.. and too much of this spike like things. Made some screenshots for you all to see and let me know whats happening or is there anything I should do.

I have a screenshot of process explorer too, just in case. There it seems normal, I mean the processes with most CPU act...

And I didn't do anything from the time I started seeing this high activity.

Last real thing I did with system setting or similar was to check changing permissions in C: to find out if we can make new text documents or similar, because of another poster' thread here about not being able to make anything other than a new folder...

But since then, I have changed back the permissions to like it was before.

Can someone please take a look and let me know? Thanks a lot

seems normal to me. Try leaving your computer idle for a couple hours and see if it does its thing and stops by then.

Your just a little too worried. Looks fine to me.

If your notebook has been idling for too long, Vistas defragmenter probably kicked in. Vista does alot of processes in the background (superfetch, indexing, defragmenting, etc.)

There was a reported issue before with Sigmatel drivers using up a whole lot of CPU load for no reason. Try disabling/uninstalling it if you still think its too high

    Thanks for the replies.

errrr... yeah, now its very quiet and all is well. Yeah probably there was some thing running in the background or some update or something like that... Indexing is off. But well yeah, I think I just a little bit too worried unnecessarily.

It happens you know.. When u shell out as much as you did for a system like this, every single click or flicker tends to kind of drive you off the cliff!!! :p :p :p

    Sorry for bothering you people.

Just got a little freaked out coz first thing in the morning, I wake up and turn on my PC and I see this.. like some continuing bad dream! :p

    Thanks again.
