I just got a T500 ThinkPad on Monday. I did a clean install of Vista the first night. While doing this clean install I partitioned my drive into 2 partitions, the C:\ drive is 30 GB and the D:\ drive is the rest of it. I may have made a miscalculation in the size the C:\ drive, but I would like to see if I can fix this problem without formatting D and combining with C then making C about 50 GB. I am looking for a way to make the D:\ drive the default drive to save everything to, except for OS needs. I have saved all applications to D:\, however I believe they continue to leave some remnants on the C:\ drive.
Yesterday while updating my computer my C:\ drive was within 200-50 MB of being full for a full 5-10 minutes, and it freaked me out. Is there a way to sort of shut the C:\ drive off to everything except Vista itself?

Why not save yourself a lot of heartache and trouble by simply getting a partition manager (like EASEUS' partition manager, which is free for personal use, or gparted, which is free, period) and using it to carve some space off the beginning of your current d:\ partition and then adding that newly unallocated space to your current c:\ partition?
Trying to swap your partitions around is going to play havoc with your installation, and probably won't end up working with a lot of your already-installed apps. -
