Is there a setting that you can adjust so that when you make the window smaller it stays that size each and every time that you start the program?

I am trying to set Adobe Acrobat and Firefox to sit side by side on the desktop.

windows explorer > tools > folder options > view > Remember each folder's view settings

not exactly what you're looking for, but as you work along and close windows with the size you like, you'll eventually get there
