I wanted a seperate email program, sort of like outlook. I just like it being seperate from my browser and easier to use.

I want to do this with my school email. Would this be possible? When I go to check my email it is through Novell, so there a novell login screen. Can I configure this email to use with Thunderbird? When I put in what I think is the server name, it doesnt connect.

Depends on how your school mail is set up. Ask the tech people at your school, as said above.

I know it's not immediately possible with my university mail account, because the mail server is only accessible from within their local net. Other schools have different systems.
