I use automatic updates. So much easier than trying to remember to update myself. :p Although it seems to download updates when I don't have time to deal with them. :p

I update like once after a reformat and then I turn it off and don't bother with it.

OK then. Do you have "Software Update" set to manual or automatic? ;)

I set the setting as: Notify me, but don't automatically download or install them. Sometimes Microsoft install the most useless softwares like the malicious removal or something like that. But in college they force me to turn on the Automatic settings because the school requires me to before I can't go online. :(

Notify but don't download, it is always good to learn of MS's attempts to fix their own screw ups :p ... you would think that after 4 years this OS would have already become bug free, yet I keep on getting BSODs that have the funniest error codes that don't even refer to hardware that I have ... MS is seriously a joke!

Automatic update without automatic download, just notify.

I have it warn me first before updating. Microsoft's updates can be kinda screwy sometimes as other people have mentioned.

I have it so it alerts me, but I must okay the download and install.

I don't like stuff downloading without me confirming it.

    Works for me. :D

I don't update in general. Only once in a bluemoon.
