My built in webcam stopped working a few weeks ago. I installed new drivers but I was always met with the error message "Unrecognized Camera!". This morning I thought maybe if I reset the laptop to it's default settings that might fix it.
I selected the option that would move all of my files into a back up folder and I proceeded with the restore.
Once everything had been moved and restored it came time for Windows to start up. I got the error message "Windows cannot run on this hardware, please reset".
I reset my laptop and a for the passed hour I am no stuck at the "Setup is starting services" screen. Any thoughts on how I can combat this issue? Any and all help is appreciated!

try a system restore to a day before you loaded the new drivers or even better before the camera stopped working.
if youve moved all your files you might have moved something you shouldnt have so it cant continue its process due to a broken link or unable to find a dll or something like that.

I can't do anything at this point. Windows loaded but I'm still stuck at the black screen that says "Setup is starting services".

turn off and on and press F8 continuously to see if it will boot into safe mode and try from there.

MR DJ, unless I am misreading his original post you keep giving him advice as if he was in a typical Windows won't load situation.

It looks like he did a factory reset. There is no system restore point to go back to.

Anslym, as much as I am loathe to suggest a total reinstall, you will waste hours/days trying to fix this.

You can try removing any external devices and see if it is hanging on installing an attached piece of hardware, but I think it is something worse.

If that does not work, you need to pull the drive and get whatever data was backed up from the temp folder and then just start all over. I fear you factory restore partition is damaged, hence the reason you cannot run a factory restore.

I'd get myself a windows disk, delete all partitions, and start from scratch. While installing, disconnect everything but the most basic hardware.
