I was exploring some forums, and found sfc /scannow command. I don't know what it really do, even after visiting Microsoft TechNet.. but my curiosity was high, thus i made: win+r>sfc /scannow
it checked my system, but i'm now worried that after that operation it would hog up my system..
So, does sfc /scannow command add any proccess or services?

Scans the integrity of all protected system files and replaces incorrect version
s with correct Microsoft versions. If you want to check your system: sfc /VERIFYONLY
No repairs will be done.
SFC /scannow will check and repairs incorrect versions...
hope this helps... -
Also, if you do not have a local copy of the Windows installation media, it will ask you to insert the disc. That way it can replace any corrupt OS files with their counterpart on the disc.
