I'm fed up with the stupid sharing options in Vista, i've searched for this topic on google for over 3 hours, with many solutions leading no where. I don't understand why sharing a hard-drive is infinitely more complicated in Vista then XP. All i had to do with XP was right click, and enable sharing, and voila, i could access my C:\.

I've turned on Sharing, turned off Password, and other things i don't even remember... even granting full access to different users, but i can't come up with a solution.

Can someone kindly post or refer me to a definitive and complete step-by-step guide on how i can share my C:\ drive on a Vista machine so that my XP Computer can access it? I've wasted 3 hours of my life browsing through "crap"! (As of now i can access my laptop [vista] and see the C folder, but i don't have the permission, regardless of what i fiddle with).

    A HUGE thanks in advance!
