I am using a dock program (RocketDock) for most of my commonly accessed paths/files. I have RocketDock docked on the bottom of my screen as it feels natural and easy to use there, and I have moved the taskbar to the top of my screen with autohide on. However, sometimes I activate the task bar accidently...95% of the time when the cursor is near the update right or upper left corner of the screen.

I would love to shorten my taskbar (and the area that brings it out of autohide) by maybe 1 - 1.5 inches on each side. Has anyone ever seen a hack like this?

    Cheers,
    David

Never found a way myself to shorten the taskbar.

"Remove" (hiding it without the chance for it to come up) it completedly, in conjunction with a dock utility is probably an alternative; just make usre that you have a bunch of quicklaunches ready.

Or just stretch out your dock :D

    cheers ...

you can change the location of the task bar by drag and drop.click on the task bar and drag it on the upper side of the window.
you can auto hide and unhide the task bar.
right click on the tack bar click properties and select the auto hide click ok and apply.

    Bump.
Anyone have any other ideas? Would rather not lose the Taskbar all together...
Please read the first post carefully to understand what I have done so far.
    Thanks,
    David
