Hi guys. I recently ordered my Sager np8662 and i am going to receive it this thursday. I ordered it without an OS b/c i thought that i could just use windows 7 b/c it is free, for now. However, now i am not sure if i should just use windows 7 as my primary OS or should i dual boot it with ubuntu? I was going to use windows 7 as my OS but i heard that there could be come issues running some games and programs so i am confused right now. By the way, i have never installed an OS before but i have read many articles on dual booting and the procedure which seems like a good idea. And if do go about dual booting how much should i partition if i want to use windows 7 more often especially if i can play games and run all the programs i want on it?

I dual booted for a while, but found myself just using 7, and not vista. So, i just use 7 Now. And the RC especially, is fully stable. Ive had no problems with it vs. Vista. ;)

Windows 7 will be able to take more advantage of it than ubuntu... IMO

ok thanks guys. However, when i install windows 7 do i need to manually install any drivers such as the one for the gpu? By the way, if i decide to dual boot later on do i need to completely wipe windows 7 and then install the other OS or what? How would that work out?

w7 is pretty stable now, so you are safe to single boot.

Only reason I dual boot is because when W7 ends, I'll probably delete it.

Win7 should detect most/all drivers you need. If you have any software you use for your hardware you'll need to reinstall that. You'll also probably want to manually upgrade your video drivers to make sure you're at the latest version possible.
