I have been using Vista for a while.
I love it. It looks amazing. And I also did run the games fine, including Oblivion. Recently I bought compamy of heroes and it takes ages to load, but once it loads it run fine. People are suggesting me its because of Vista and 1 GB RAM.

Will reverting back to Windows XP help the game Company of Heroes load smoothly.

Plus I dont feel like reverting back, because Ive got so much used to the Vista interface.

I personally strongly recommend against changing your main OS just because of one application. You might want to consider dual booting both operating systems, or practice your patience by waiting for the game to load. If you have some spare money, upgrading your RAM wouldn't hurt.

Only if you want your games to run smoothly and your RAM to be used for something other than feeding a bloated GUI!

IE, yes. Do it now. No matter how good a system's specs are, it's always going to run XP faster than it's going to run Vista. That goes for programs, too.

The higher memory usage in Vista is not just because of a "bloated GUI". It's also because Vista actually does the right thing, and makes sure memory isn't unused (= wasted). If no applications need it, why shouldn't the OS scoop it up?

For games though, you're likely right. DX9 games will always run better under XP.

ANd should you revert to XP? That's up to you. I did it because I couldn't stand Vista. If you only have a problem with one game, and otherwise like Vista, it probably won't be worth it.
