I am still using windows 7 home premium and I am recently receiving a lot of notifications from windows about upgrading to windows 10, but I have delayed them.
Since it's only the upgrade of software (system) but not hardware, I have no plan upgrading my hardware in the near future, if I upgrade to windows 10 which is newer, would the whole system performance get slow down?

I think you should claim a free upgrade before that time passes. As for actually upgrading, that is not exactly necessary, unless you're an avid gamer, developer, designer, etc. who needs the latest Windows applications updates and support for optimal performance.
Just remember to make a backup, whatever you do!toughasnails likes this. -
If you have a spare hard drive lying around, use that instead. You don't have to actually upgade the HDD you use right now. I can tell you how to do it.

I've already upgraded to Windows 10 now. It feels great! But should I downgrade to windows 7?

If W10 works good for you and you are happy with it then stay with it. You do have 30 days to decide.killkenny1 likes this. -
I just wonder why the whole performance does not slow down , but on the other hand, it's like even faster than windows 7. I have not upgraded my hardwareLast edited: Jul 27, 2016

I've had a fairly good experience with Win 10 and have been using it since release. However, I would guess it feeling faster has less to do with Windows 10 and more to do with a new OS install. Less things are starting up and running in the background and possibly some other minor optimizations. I would bet even a fresh install of Win 7 would feel faster than your current Win 7 felt.Papusan, Solo wing, hmscott and 1 other person like this.

Clean install will always be faster if you just install the O/S and drivers but faster CPU and More RAM for x64 O/S helps faster boot times along with SSD will boost performance of any system. It's what you load to run in RAM or Taskbar that will bog down the system.

I have been hearing some people around saying that they dislike windows 10 and wish to downgrade to windows 7, and my best friend already downgraded to windows 7. I have now upgraded to windows 10 but I am very satisfied with the new experience. I just wonder why some people would have a poorer experience instead. -
The concern is how familiar you are with the older OS. If you are one of those people who literally can use your system just by moving the mouse around and using the keyboard without looking at the screen then W10 will suck big time. Another issue is privacy and ability to customize the OS. Yet another lesser concern may be eye candy but unification can count too. I am sure there are other factors here as well.

If you complain about windows 10 but use google products like chrome, jokes on you that you care about privacy.

I think windows 3.1 has the best privacy . doesn't it? Because at those time I don't think Microsoft and their programmers had enough programming knowledge to create something to keep track of the activities and habits of the computer usersLast edited: Aug 1, 2016

Now I 've already upgraded my windows 7 to windows 10. How about my windows 7 license purchased a few years ago? Will that work for windows 10 the next time I clean reinstall windows 10?
Or will I have to downgrade to windows 7 the next time I format my PC? -
I use firefox, and Windows 7. Google may use data when I use their search engine, but they cannot access files on my PC, and send the data back to the mother ship. Two completely separate things, like apples and oranges. Thinking about loading mint or something on VM, see what its like.toughasnails and hmscott like this. -
Your system has a digital entitlement. As long as its the same machine, you should be able to clean install 10 without issue.alexhawker likes this.
