    This for Vista...

All of my other os's (98,2000,XP) would show the connection speed when you hovered the pointer over the little tv screens. This vista os doesn't do it.

Sometimes my dialup hooks up real slow an I just disconnect an rehookup an usually get a faster connection speed. The way it is now I have no way of knowing what speed it is hooked up at since it doesn't show it on this os.

Is there a way to change some setting in here to show this when I hover over the little tv screens?

    Thanx,
    Ronnie

What might be easier is to get a gadget for Windows Sidebar that shows your connection speed.

There isn't a way to do this that I know of other than by using a Sidebar gadget as Pixelot mentioned.

The sidebar is the thing on the right hand of your desktop. If it's not there, press start and type "sidebar" and click enter. It should now have appeared.

To find more gadgets, look here. Look for some kind of network monitoring gadget. There must be something.
