What sidebar gadgets is everyone using? I'm looking for some new ones and wondered if there's some good ones I'm missing. Right now I'm using glass orb clock, date, weather, performance monitor, app launcher, and IMP's player. I really like IMP's player as opposed to the WMP gadget because it plays visualizations and you can opt out of viewing album art, which I personally don't like. Thanks for any help.

I've got a Wireless Network Monitor, you can get it here. Mostly useful to know your external and internal IP and to check signal quality, although mine is always on "excellent"

I've several instances of MSN Weather (for different locations, of course), a digital clock on a different time zone, 2 instances of Currency Exchange and a Notepad. These cover about half of the bar, the other half has Windows Live Messenger laid on top, it's not part of the sidebar. I like to have WLM open all the time, but I can't find a decent WLM gadget, and even if I do, WLM will have to be running anyway, so I may as well have it open and pretend it's part of the sidebar...

I use some temperature monitoring gadgets that don't requires external apps like NVIDIA GPU Temp ( http://blog.orbmu2k.de/sidebar-gadgets/nvidia-gpu-temp-sidebar-gadget) and O&O DiskStat ( http://www.oo-software.com/home/en/products/oodiskstat/gadget/). I also have Laptop Monitoring to monitor everything that's going on my laptop but I used to have Computer Status ( http://gallery.live.com/liveItemDetail.aspx?li=c41637be-8809-458b-9be2-5803b6de5ea5) but it doesn't work with IE8 for some reasons.
I think I don't need a clock since there's already one in the taskbar -

Mine is relatively simple. I use...
- standard Vista Clock (may remove soon though because it's pretty redundant)
- Underground Weather Gadget ( http://www.wunderground.com/download/vista.asp)
- Standard Vista Calendar gadget
- 3 Note gadgets (standard Vista ones)
- e-calc calculator gadget ( http://gallery.live.com/liveItemDetail.aspx?li=b7366d77-6138-4435-ad4c-bf003c978beb&bt=1&pl=1)
EDIT: I forgot to update my screenshot with the e-calc calculator, but you get the idea. I'm too lazy to change it.Attached Files:

I like the three day forecast thing on the weather underground gadget. I wonder if there's a way to remove the © in the corner, but I'm not much of a programmer. I like the clock on there because it's easier to glance at to get what you need. Then I take out the clock in the corner and the battery icon cause the ThinkVantage power manager provides better information.

I suggest that you all should remove this ugly , "ram eating" sidebar , and install something like that (rainmeter) : http://www.ipi.fi/~rainy/legacy.html
so that you can have this amazing result:

How the heck do you have so many gadgets?! Mine holds: Control System (quick shutdown, restart, etc.), All CPU Meter (non temps version), Battery Monitor (simple), Digi Clock 1.1 (digital clock), Weatherbug (detailed and/or collapsible mode), Dark Cal (dark version of the calendar gadget), and on the 2nd page is Activity Tracker (really useful to see how you allocate your time, I have categories: Sleep, Class, Studying, Relax - ie. right now, surfing, etc., Other - ie. errands, cleaning, making food, etc., Exercise - includes sports).
-
i love the windows + spacebar shortcut to bring up the gadgets
i think yahoo widgets has something similar, does anybody know if rainmeter has a similar function? -
if you're looking for the functionality of rainlendar in a sidebar gadget, try zCalendar. Granted it doesn't look as sleek, it's still much nicer than the default calendar, and pretty customizable.
I also use Pro Weather Gadget, it's amazing, please try it. -

For some reasons, the stylesheet on that site seems to be broken at the moment, so if the link doesn't quite work, just search on that site with the term 'Digital clock'. The one I use is called 'Digital World Clock', has a black background, and created by someone called 'SARWAR'. The sample image shows a clock for New York and a clock for London. -

Can you tell us where we can see the original? I'm really curious to know what it actually is. Looks like possibly a satellite, or perhaps a wrought iron or cement globe/statue. . . Thanks so much (and I apologize for going slightly off-topic.) -
-
Thanks, Gary! I didn't learn that either.
