I've been using Vista with the stock sidebars that they come with: RAM & CPU speedometer and the weather.

However, now that college is coming around the corner and my schedule was (finally) finalized, I thought I'd search for some custom sidebars. But, after awhile of searching I have come up with nothing.

So I thought maybe I could explain what I was looking for, and see if any of the forum members would already have it.

What I'm looking for is a gadget that displays the day, "Thursday". Under the name of the day, I can tell it to display my classes and the their times so that every Thursday Vista would load up with those set items. It would do this for all the other days (Mon-Fri).

If anyone can help it will be much appreciated. I'll continue searching myself as well.

    Thanks.

In XP, I use Rainlender, but I'm not sure if that is compatible with Vista. Twice I have searched through the entire list of sidebar gadgets (for other things). There has to be a gadget that synchs with Outlook. Rainlender just pulled my class schedule from Outlook and did exactly what you indicated.

I'd say keep checking. Try Googling. There has to be one out there.

I was looking for one just as you described as well. If I cant find one, I may disable the side bar even though I like that I can watch my my dual cores and ram usage, but mostly its just there for show for me unless I can find this.

Hi, one quick question (I'm new to this "gadget" feature).
Is it safe to download gadgets that are third party application? I go to the Windows live Gallery page and always find this warning everytime I want to download a gadget:

"Only install applications from developers you trust. This is a third-party application, and it could access your computer's files, show you objectionable content, or change its behavior at any time".

    Thanks...

Definitely safe. I don't think it would be posted on that site unless it was. However, there's no guarantee of stability. Some of the gadgets have memory leaks or just don't work. There are some really good ones though, like the multi-core resource monitor.
