Hello everyone, recently I installed a 4GB turbo memory card in my laptop, thinking that everything will be improved in comparision of the 1GB version.
Unfortunately the startup of windows isn't improve, because it didn't loads the boot files as readyboost does, and I noticed a retarding of system startup.

So in the dashboard you can select group of files that can be boost.
I thought to create a group for the startup process, but I don't know which files readyboost boosts.

Can you list me the files from Vista 32 Home Premium that I have to load in the dashboard to simulate readyboost, please?

I tried to use both cards together (the 1GB and 4GB) and only detects the 1gb.

Would be nice use 1GB for readyboost, and 4GB for readydrive and userpining.

    Thanks.

Sorry, I didn't read it before. Now I know that, I'm not going to jump the rules again(I did it just because I ignore that rule).

You cant boost the startup files, I have tried.

There is a list of files located in the windows/prefetch folder in a file called layout.ini but trying to add the first few files just will not work.

I would also love the whole of my 2GB turboram drive to be dedicated to windows boot loading but only 300meg is available when I look in windows, the rest is set up for either readyboost or user pinning (I already have a fast SD card doing readyboost)

Turbo memory has limited uses. I believe the only beneficial use is with specific programs like caching video and audio for editing.

I thought of doing the same thing at one point. In fact I added all of System32 to the custom file set. It didn't seem to do anything. I have a feeling that the driver responsible for handling the user pinning may not be loaded until later in the boot process. I never got that far before my HD died and the model of laptop I changed to doesn't have room for the TM module.
