    Windows 7 Home Premium SP-1, 64-bit
    Skype 5.5.59.44
    iTunes 10.5.2.11

I'm new to Skype, just started using it.
When I place a Skype call, Skype prevents iTunes sound from reaching my speakers. I hear Skype ringing as it calls my contact, and I no longer hear music from iTunes.
Skype reports that there was no answer from my contact and stops the calling, but iTunes sound is not restored.
To restore sound from iTunes, I must exit and restart iTunes.

I don't know if this is a Skype problem or an iTunes problem.
How can I make sure that iTunes is immediately audible after a "no answer" outgoing Skype call?

This is actually a windows 7 feature.

Go to Control Pannel -> Sound -> Communications tab
set the option to "Do nothing" and other sounds will not be muted or reduced when you're on a skype call.

I use this setting because even though the attenuation helps during a skype call, windows often fails to return other sounds to their original level after skype call ends.

Thanks for the reply. I had found that same setting. In my case, I think it's a good feature, I just wanted to find out if there were some way to ensure that sound is returned to iTunes after Skype is done. If I have to, I'll do the same as you and set that control panel to "Do nothing", but it would be better to get the feature to work properly.
