This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Skype or Yahoo Messenger 10 for HQ video calls?

    I've never used skype before and i'm wondering which is better for high quality video calls? my built-in webcam is only 1.3MP, but YIM 10 beta offers very nice looking video call quality. is skype just as good with your average 1.3MP cam??

    I tend to prefer Skype, as Skype connections tend to be more stable than any of the programs I've used.

    ^ 1 + I use Yahoo to IM on... Well, it's digsby now, but still.

    When I need/want to talk to someone via webcam, skype wins hands down. There is no comparison.

    See, the new Yahoo 10 beta allows high quality camming experience from a crappy cam, somehow. I'm just wondering if skype does also from someone who has used both and has a 1.3mp webcam

    How about a built in 1.3 from HP? Skype still trumps yahoo every time.

    Oh yea, 10 isn't in beta anymore.
