So I'm having a few problems with my wife's computer.
It's a Toshiba T-series laptop with Win 7 x64 installed. Intel integrated graphics controller. As far as I can tell Sleep freezes when closing the lid initiates it (so far not when pressing the hotkey or selecting sleep from the menu), and sometimes hibernate freezes, this last time I pressed the button it hung.
The result is I have to hard-reset to get her back up and running.
Also, I set the power options so that the computer will never sleep from going idle, just dimming/turning off screen. Ocassionally it hangs at a blank screen, and we have to hard-reset it from there.
Not sure if these are related, but a fix would be splendid.
Thanks!
Update: Plot thickens...so I just did two successful sleeps/awakes by closing the lid...no clue what is going on.

Try the MCE Standby Tool. Does wonders for me. I should add it to my signature.

This looks awesome. I may even try to add this to my own lappy, since it states it "can" help come out of standby more quickly.
I'll report back and let you know if the problems dissappear.

So...things are not going so well. MCE Standby tool isn't working. IN fact now when I try to even restart, it hangs her machine.
Not sure what to do. -
Today sleep/restart/shutdown were not working, but we're thinking it may have had something to do with an SD card being in the reader. Since we removed it and clean-booted w/o it in, there haven't been any problems.
Those looking for solutions, I posted in another forum here:

This may be updated with solid solutions.
Ciao for now.
