i've noticed that with windows xp coming to an end, there aren't many windows updates anymore. so my question is,
is it possible to slipstream windows xp w/ sp2 with all the current updates?
if so, wouldn't that make it possible to install windows xp on any machine without activation?
thanks in advance everybody.![]()

There are tons of slipstreaming guides available on the 'net - just google XP slipstream.
No, it doesn't allow you to install on any machine.

XP isn't coming to an end. Microsoft is going to support it for several years still. The reason you aren't seeing as many updates is just that there's less to fix, I suppose. I haven't noticed the updates getting fewer, though. Sure you aren't imagining it?
And yeah, there are plenty of ways to add updates to XP. You can do it manually, downloading them one at a time and adding them to your install CD, or you can download the update pack from http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/ and get a lot of them in one go. -

First, if you don't have a multi-user license, each key can only be used once.
Second, you didn't ask if it was possible, you asked if slipstreaming the updates means you don't have to activate the software. Yes, it is possible to create a self-installing disk, but it isn't done by slipstreaming. You need another application, like nLite, to add the activation key.
Third, you do not need to be activated to download hotfixes. You can download network install versions, just like the network administrators do in order to update all of the computers connected to the network.
Fourth, you really need to click the link I provided, and then you need to Google for "slipstream xp" and then take some time and read what those websites have to offer.
Slipstreaming Question.
