Has anyone tried to slipstream SP3? I've heard there are problems using nLite. I would have just used the sticky guide on here if that wasn't the case. I found this guide after searching the net, but I don't know if it works: http://www.howtohaven.com/system/slipstream-xp-service-pack-3.shtml
I would also like to include some of the drivers already installed on my laptop in the slipstream if possible. In case it makes any difference (don't think it does), I will be using an XP Pro SP2 CD as my windows CD.
Thanks for the help.

Well, my EeePC is running great so far and that's using SP3 + nLite + removing and editing things I don't want.

Yes, I'm on a downgraded Satellite m205 from vista to xp sp3.
I have used Nlite and sp2 cd for slipstreaming, as well as sata drivers that otherwise windows setup wouldn't recognize my h.d.
Do remember sp3 is not officially out because of a stupid bug... that shouldn't really matter to anyone. anyhow for me it runs a-ok. -
Just to doublecheck, does this mean that some of you have slipstreamed SP3 onto an install CD, and successfully installed and activated Windows?
For some reason my clean installation (from a slipstreamed disc with SP3) refuses to activate. Can't work out why, and wondering if it's because of SP3 somehow.
So if any of you have successfully activated Windows *with SP3 already installed*, could you give me a yell? -
Are you trying to slipstream onto a machine using Vista or Windows 2008? nLite is having some problems doing that right now.
If not, then one person slipstreamed SP2 + XP, then SP3+ XP and it worked for them.
By activated I'm guessing you're talking about inputting the keyright: http://www.msfn.org/board/accepting-the-license-key-agreement-during-XP-SP3-t116697.html
Here's another thread on it: http://www.msfn.org/board/slipstream-SP3-into-corp-pro-sp2-t112325.html -
No, no Vista or Win2k8 involved.
It's an XP Professional (not corporate which all the pirates use) cd, I slipstreamed SP3 onto it *and made no other changes in nlite*.
And I'm installing it on a virtual machine I created just for this purpose, so there were no previous OS on it.
And I made the disc in while running XP as well.
And no, I don't mean entering the license key during installation, but the "please activate Windows" crap that comes up afterwards, and prevents you from visiting Windows Update until you've done it. -

However, in your case you can restore IME. You can download it here. -

i used to be able to switch to them with the EN and CH and the taskbar...now there's only the "?" -
Ok... I integrated SP3, WMP11, IE7 and the 1 extra hotfix into my Windows CD.
I have a few questions regarding polishing this up:
-Does anyone know if it is possible to integrage Windows Installer 3.0 (or is it 3.1)?
-If yes to the prior question, do you know if it is possible to integrate the .NET Framework?
-If the prior questions are not possible, how can I go about doing a silent install immediately after OS installation? I found guides to do it with the .NET Framework, but not Windows Installer.
-Once having the file win51ip.SP3, is there any benefit or consequence to removing the file WIN51IP.SP2?
