Whenever I move a file (no matter how small it is) from one folder to another, the vista transfer progress bar shows up and takes some time to disappear. This is annoying because it happens for even files that are 15kb. Does anyone know how to make that window appear and disappear like it would in XP?

I think Microsoft released an update to address this and other issues. I may be wrong.

EDIT: This thread is what I was referring to. It doesn't address your exact issue, but it does address a similar problem with file transfers.

well, they kinda give out a hotfix, and it was a hit-and-missed issue
i recommend just get urself a 3rd party file manager (total commander, u can use it under evaluation) - it is a heck of a lot faster

    cheers ...
