    Hello all,

I recently did a fresh install of Windows XP on my Dell Inspiron 1501. Since then, all typing of text has a significant, annoying delay showing up onscreen. Scroll bars are also very sluggish and cause browser windows etc to hang. When it gets too bogged down by typing, it will beep angrily with the onboard speaker.

Does anyone have any ideas of what might be causing this? I've updated drivers. I've run all the updates and done multiple spyware/ virus scans. I've also checked out all my startup programs and nothing shady is hanging out there.
