Many programs and games just put their data in a separate folder inside My Documents, which is pretty annoying. I wonder if there is a way to re-rout them, so I can make them save their data all together in one place.
Thanks.

I'm not sure I understand, many programs put the data into "My Documents" you want to change it so instead of being in separate folders it's all in one big folder? If you do that you then run the risk of different programs overwriting each other because they have the same file names, what about subfolders within those folders (eg: the settings folder and the saves folder for a game) they would then be subfolders off the main folder, again giving rise to a likelyhood of having duplicate programs competing with each other for name/folder space.

Why don't you hide the folders? To do so, right click on the folder> Properties and on the default tab you just select Hidden, then Apply, OK, and you're done.

It's unlikely that you'd be able to re-rout them; It's usually hard-coded into the program, or at least stored in an obscure registry value buried somewhere.
It would be different for each game too; you might wanna ask on each program's official forum. -
Everything goes into My Documents. You can redirect the saved files to a particular directory if you tweak the programs and specify where the files will be saved.

Good Idea bc135, I'll do that. Thanks. Although I like to see all the files in a folder, but at least they'll be kind of transparent.
So many subfolders in My Documents!
