Where can I find a copy of nlasvc.dll (network location awareness).

Whenever I turn on the wifi it uses up 25% of my cpu (wmiprvse uses up another 25) and well...yeah, internet dies til you end the service and restart it.

This is highly annoying and I don't want to reinstall windows 7

since it is using up all those resources, the file is not missing, so yes, I would try system restore first.

be curious if anything else changed....update to a third party firewall, maybe?

I think I know what caused it.

sadly I can't system restore to before that time.

I recently installed Visual Basic Professional 2005 (this was all installed on the 21st)

Well..VB Pro 2005 does not mix well with windows 7.

It also installs MySQL server 2005 stuff (which broke things apparently)

It also creates multiple system restores if you try to uninstall that stuff.

soooooo.....uh...well I have one on the 22nd I'll try but if that doesn't work I'm outta luck.

I didn't start noticing stuff until this night when I tried using the wifi. So may be something broke between the yesterday and not on the 21st.

    ARghakdlf.

I can't go back far enough to fix the issue. Well. I'm gonna have to reinstall windows 7 eventually.

well, at least I have a couple large external HDDs (TB and 500GB) that have some space.
