I also think core duo is 128 bits, as dual core is 64.

    It's probably a spam.

    Btw.. your explaination is wrong.

Core2duo is a brand/series of processor. "Dual core" is 2 cores. A core2duo processor is a dual core processor. AMD Turion x2 is also a dual core mobile processor.

Yeah you are right. I go confused. Which processors had the hyprethreading but were not dual?

i dont hate win7. i have it running as a virtual machine on my laptop as we speak inside of vista. i like windows seven a lot actually.

Windows vista runs so nice on my laptop, i just really see no reason at all to change. none.

I ran into an old college buddy of mine who reverted from vista to XP, and he hated it. driver issues, etc. switched him back to vista, tuned it for him in about ten minutes and he loves it. never looked back. even went out and bought vista ultimate (upgrade edition).

i like vista, its solid runs great, is safer than XP, and has been very stable and a general really great performer for me.

I like 7 too, but will i migrate? probably not. if it isnt broken, dont fix it, or so the saying goes. im happy where im at. no reason to change.

You really are clueless aren't you? XP has prefetch and Vista has superfetch. If you had a single clue about the differences in the memory management model between XP and Vista you would understand how ridiculous the "utilizes only resources that you would actrually use" comment really is.

And this quote is a gem: "I bet you any day I would still launch an application in Vista faster than you would with prefetch on Vista!" It is just hillarious on so many levels.

Seriously...What is going on in this thread  It started off with the usual XP vs Vista nonsense and somehow became an argument about dual core processors and it is basically just drifting now!

IMO most of these posts sound like they belong in the off topic random thread...

XP vs Vista who cares it is still a Microsoft OS at the end of the day, just use what you prefer no need to keep starting these obviously flame war ending threads.

Just a voice of reason here....

Thread has gotten off topic and has already deteriorated into bickering, so its now closed.

95, 98, ME, XP, Vista, Windows 7, OS X, and the many linux distros all have their reason why to choose it over another...just chose the best one that suits your needs and wants.
